Happy Thanksgiving to all of my American readers!

Thursday, November 28, 2019 is the nation’s day for turkey, Macy’s Parade and football.

It’s a hectic day for anyone — likely to be a woman — who prepares Thanksgiving dinner. By the end of Thursday, home cooks are understandably tired.

Some are tired all year round from household chores.

However, there is an upside to these tiresome tasks, as New York City’s WOR radio talk show host, Mark Simone, explains in the following list:

So, it’s not all bad.

In fact, it’s all good.

For that reason, let us say a prayer of thanksgiving to God for all His blessings.

Of course, Thanksgiving is meant to be about leftovers and tasty treats that last through the weekend. Anyone who needs a few quick food ideas should read an excellent Thanksgiving recipe thread led by one of my readers, Daughn at the Q Tree. Daughn begins by sharing personal Thanksgiving anecdotes guaranteed to warm the heart.

For those who like a bit of political discussion with relatives and friends over roast turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie, take the Nolan Chart test: a quick ten-question survey guaranteed to stimulate conversation. As ever, I tested as a centrist.

Wherever you are in the world and however you choose to spend it, have a very happy Thanksgiving Day!
