On April 6, President Trump gave a 21-minute interview to Newsmax’s Heather Childers:

He begins by deploring the decision by Major League Baseball (MLB) to move the All-Star Game from Atlanta to Denver, Colorado, because of Georgia’s new voter law. Trump said that Atlanta’s bill which was passed is a watered down version of the original. He said that former gubernatorial Democrat candidate Stacey Abrams put pressure on the state to remove certain provisions, including voter ID signature matching. The final legislation, he said, is nowhere near what it was at the outset. As such, he found little justification for MLB to move the All-Star game in protest. He pointed out that Colorado has a much stricter voting law than Georgia. Oh, the irony.

He also had much to say about large corporations aligning themselves with every new social cause. He said it was right for conservative Americans to boycott these companies by refusing to buy their products.

Trump said that the Republicans in the Senate were weak and named Mitch McConnell specifically. This is what Trump posted about the 2020 election a week later on his Gab account (emphases mine):

Wouldn’t it be ironic if the Supreme Court of the United States, after showing that they didn’t have the courage to do what they should have done on the Great Presidential Election Fraud of 2020, was PACKED by the same people, the Radical Left Democrats (who they are so afraid of!), that they so pathetically defended in not hearing the Election Fraud case. Now there is a very good chance they will be diluted (and moved throughout the court system so that they can see how the lower courts work), with many new Justices added to the Court, far more than has been reported. There is also a good chance that they will be term-limited. We had 19 states go before the Supreme Court who were, shockingly, not allowed to be heard. Believe it or not, the President of the United States was not allowed to be heard based on “no standing,” not based on the FACTS. The Court wouldn’t rule on the merits of the great Election Fraud, including the fact that local politicians and judges, not State Legislatures, made major changes to the Election—which is in total violation of the United States Constitution. Our politically correct Supreme Court will get what they deserve—an unconstitutionally elected group of Radical Left Democrats who are destroying our Country. With leaders like Mitch McConnell, they are helpless to fight. He didn’t fight for the Presidency, and he won’t fight for the Court. If and when this happens, I hope the Justices remember the day they didn’t have courage to do what they should have done for America.

Heather Childers then asked the former president about Joe Biden’s performance. Trump replied that he hoped that the current White House occupant was in good health physically — and mentally. Trump said he had his doubts during the one presidential debate that took place last year. She asked him if he thought someone was pulling strings behind the scenes. He said that he would not be surprised but that, ultimately, he did not know.

He was satisfied that the Biden administration will see through the completion of the border wall. Trump said that, when he left the White House, the border was in good order, then Biden began reversing his policies.

Trump is really disappointed that foreign relations have been going downhill since late January and said that this was another area he had left in a good state for his successor. Trump said that, currently, America is ‘getting no respect’. He said that officials from China and Russia never said the types of things to him that they recently said to Biden.

This interview took place around the time he was planning a private fundraiser for the Republicans. He said that a lot of 2022 candidates wanted his endorsement, but those will come in good time:

Former Georgia Democrat Congressman Vernon Jones — now a Republican — was at Trump’s fundraiser:

Finally, he said that a new social media platform of his might come to fruition. However, for now, his website has all of his announcements, which ‘millions’ see every day. He said the current arrangement is working well for him, moreso than Twitter.

It was moving to read The Ulsterman Report‘s White House Insider’s (WHI’s) take on Mitt Romney’s appearance at Red Rocks Colorado last week.

In many ways, it seemed biblical, if not Mosaic. Ulsterman’s WHI does not appear to be a man of faith, although he might have a Christian background.

Channel 7 News in Denver carried this report, which includes entertainment as well as a brief speech from Romney and ends with an earlier view of the traffic up the mountain. You can see now why I called it Mosaic, as Romney supporters felt naturally drawn to follow a contemporary Moses up that climb:

This is part of WHI had to say (emphases mine):

Got this feedback earlier today and thought you’d like to hear it.  You know, I’ve gone from just trying to defeat Obama to really trying to help Governor Romney be this country’s next president.  I’m really starting to believe there might be something very special about this man.  This took place out in Colorado.  Just a couple days ago.  Probably my favorite campaign trail story that’s come back my way so far this election.  Wish I had been there.  I’m going to try and get a little poetic on you here.  Hope I pull it off OK and do this story justice ….  -INSIDER

And now to Mitt Romney’s rally through the what WHI heard via a third party:

As the governor was en route to the amphitheatre they were told the crowd was showing “strong numbers”.  What greeted him was a lot more than just “strong numbers” though.  It was a massive wave of thousands and thousands of supporters.  Before going on the governor apparently peeked out a few times and was shaking his head in disbelief at just how many people were there to see him.  He was told by organizers up to a thousand more were turned away because there simply wasn’t any room left.  People said you could feel the size of the crowd under your feet backstage.  Somebody had passed out a ton of “thundersticks” [stick balloons meant to be struck together to make a gentle rumbling noise] and the people were banging them together and making this amazing rumbling noise.  There were some real veteran campaigners backstage and I’m told they were all blown away by this crowd in Colorado.  It really was like some big time rock show.  Just a huge response for the governor.

So Governor Romney goes onstage and gives his speechThe crowd just totally embraces him.  From beginning to end.  Every word.  They are fired up. Loud.  Positive.  Cheering.  Just an amazing moment for the campaign.  Everybody backstage were all smiles and peeking out at all those people and shaking their heads.  This is the kind of moment in a campaign you never forget.  Ever.   Nobody who hasn’t experienced it can really understand this feeling.  You’re looking at a candidate being transformed right in front of your eyes into the next Leader of the Free World.  They go from being human into something just a bit more. It’s all those people.  That energy.  It kind of fills the candidate up and makes them bigger than life.  And you are watching it happen in real time.  Right then

At which point:

The governor returns backstage and he is smiling and shaking hands, taking congratulations from everybody around him.  He’s saying how great it was.  Somebody yells out he’s going to win Colorado and the governor laughs and says he thinks so too.  And then something very interesting happens.  He moves away from the group of people just a bit.  Maybe ten or fifteen feet or so.  Just enough to have a little space to himself.  And enough people notice that the area gets a lot more quiet, and they are trying to watch the governor without looking like they are watching the governor.  They can all kind of tell something is happening right then.  It was described as something very peaceful and powerful that came over that backstage area for a moment.  And the governor, he lowers his head and his eyes shut tight and you could see him take a slow deep breath and then he lets it out and says quietly, but just loud enough for some to hear, “Lord, if this is your will, please help to make me worthy.  Please give me the strength, Lord.”  And then his eyes open up, and he’s back to smiling and laughing and shaking hands and being the candidate once again.

I’m 100% convinced Mitt Romney was shaken to his soul right then and there.  I think at that moment it was sinking in he might really be the next American president …

Like this huge low rumble that just surrounded all of them at once.  A quiet little prayer, and the sound of thunder.

The sound of God.

The comments say that Romney’s prayer was not in a Mormon style. And what does that indicate for Romney, his wife Ann as well as  their five sons and their families? We can but see in 2013. May they see the full peace of Christ as revealed in the New Testament.

Please pray for Mitt Romney’s and Paul Ryan’s safety as the race for the White House draws to a close. America’s future depends on it.
